Namco Arcade Game Blasting onto Home Formats for 1st Time

Namco NebulasRay Arcade Archives

A Namco arcade shoot ‘em up by the name of NebulasRay will soon be blasting its way onto home consoles for the very first time thanks to Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives line, which will be releasing NebulasRay, which is a 1994 Namco vertically scrolling shoot ‘em up, onto Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on May 15th 2025, giving the game its home console debut some 31 years after Namco first released the game into arcades.

NebulasRay is notable for its distinctive 3D visuals, which were created by converting 3D models into sprites.

As we reported earlier today, this week’s Arcade Archives release is also a Namco shoot ‘em up, albeit one from a decade earlier, in the form of Super Xevious, which has, of course, already received a number of conversions to home formats, unlike the forthcoming NebulasRay.

Hamster Corporation have declared that May 2025 is “Namco Month” for Arcade Archives, just as April 2024 was previously. During this year’s “Namco Month”, a different Namco title is to be released into the Arcade Archives line for Switch and PS4 every other week throughout the month, beginning with yesterday’s Super Xevious, and continuing with the home debut of  NebulasRay on May 15th.
