New NES Adventure Annalog Announced By The Retro Room

We love new games for old consoles, and Annalog, a new NES Metroidvania from The Retro Room, is exactly the kind of game we enjoy reporting on. Although we don’t know much beyond a teaser trailer shown on the retro publisher’s X/Twitter account, we do know a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will fund the remaining development and physical production.

From what we can see, this will be an open-world 2D Metroidvania-style adventure featuring classic NES pixel art and chiptunes. As with all the other Retro Room projects, we’re sure the finished article will include a cart, an outer box, and the all-important manual that collectors enjoy. For the time being, if you’re a homebrew NES fan, make sure to sign up for email notifications for when the Kickstarter goes live.

The blurb from the Kickstarter page. “Annalog is a brand new Metroidvania adventure for the NES, featuring a sprawling world, mysterious lore, open-ended puzzles, and heart-pounding boss fights.  Explore an unknown post-apocalyptic world, littered with abandoned machines that you can freely reprogram to do your bidding.  As you uncover the history of how this high-tech civilization once fell, you’ll be faced with a choice: do you bring it all back?  Or destroy it forever?”

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
