Said power-ups can be levelled up by earning coins that you can spend between games.

The graphics in Hextreme Void are perhaps on the perfunctory side, somewhat resembling a mobile game, but they do suit the game, and it’s always easy to follow the on-screen action, mo matter how many balls are bouncing around it.

Sound is used to good effect in Hextreme Void, with a suitably chilled out soundtrack that gets more frantic as the game does, and the sound of the bricks smashing gives a sense of satisfaction.

For a game that has a pun on “extreme” in its name, playing Hextreme Void is a surprisingly relaxing, chilled out experience.

Once you get used to the absence of a bat, playing Hextreme Void is a surprisingly intuitive experience that you’ll pick up very quickly, though at first, it can feel like you have little control over what’s happening on-screen, which makes playing Hextreme Void a rather more passive experience than playing yer average brick breaker. That said, watching your ball make its way towards the final brick on a stage is supremely satisfying, even if it can sometimes feel like you didn’t contribute much to getting it there!

However, the more you play, the more thought you’ll put into how to deploy your power-ups to achieve maximum effect. Hextreme Void is puzzle videogaming at its purest, no bells, no whistles, just a very enjoyable and rather addictive spin on the brick breaker formula.

Hextreme Void is a fairly short game, comprising just five worlds (or “voids”). Only the first void can be played at first, with the remaining for unlocking ss you complete the others. And if you’re playing the game on Xbox (as we were), and you enjoy unlocking achievements, you’ll enjoy seeing the achievements rack up as you unlock each void. And there may only be five voids to clear, but these are made up of a total of 250 stages, so there are plenty of bricks to be broken!

In many ways, Hextreme Void is the perfect budget game. It’s easy to learn, fun to play, a little quirky, and even though it’s on the short side, it’s the sort of game you’re likely to revisit time and time again over the years, so if there’s a void in your games collection for a new puzzle game, Hextreme Void will fill it “hextremely” well.

We very much enjoyed Hextreme Void, and it comes highly recommended if you’re a fan of brick breakers, or even of puzzle games in general, and at its wallet-friendly budget price, you’ll certainly get your money’s worth out of it.

Hextreme Void was developed by Eastasiasoft and Double Mizzlee, and it was released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4&5 , and Xbox One & Series X|S by the ever-reliable indie publisher Eastasiasoft today (January 21st 2026).

When we first reported on Eastasiasoft’s new game Hextreme Void earlier this month, we were expecting the game to be yet another brick breaker with a slight twist on the genre, but upon playing it, we’ve learned that there’s a lot more to Hextreme Void than just that! Upon loading up Hextreme Void […]

[13
87,19,88
post-30412","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-features","tag-double-mizzlee","tag-eastasiasoft","tag-hextreme-void
["GET
