{"id":30651,"date":"2026-02-03T13:02:02","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T13:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/?p=30651"},"modified":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","slug":"sausagewaregames","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/games\/sausagewaregames\/","title":{"rendered":"New SausageWareGames Game for Spectrum Incoming &amp; Free Games Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SausageWareGames <\/strong>is not only one of the best-named developers in the <strong>ZX Spectrum<\/strong> homebrew scene at the moment, but they\u2019re also becoming one of the most prolific.<br \/><br \/><strong>SausageWareGames<\/strong>\u2019 next game, titled <strong>Full Spectrum Defence<\/strong>, a new game for 1<strong>28K ZX Spectrums<\/strong>, is now complete, and it will be released by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitmapsoft.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bitmapsoft.co.uk<\/a> in the next few weeks, priced at \u00a31.99 on digital, and at \u00a39.99 for the physical release.<br \/><br \/><strong>Full Spectrum Defence<\/strong> is is a &#8220;tower defense&#8221; game inspired by modern PC games such as Kingdom Rush, and Defence Grid. Developer <strong>Tom Potter<\/strong> told us that: \u201cit&#8217;s not a genre I&#8217;ve seen done on the Speccy before.\u201d<br \/><br \/>The game is set inside a <strong>ZX Spectrum<\/strong> that&#8217;s under attack from viruses and it&#8217;s the player&#8217;s job to deploy the anti-virus defenses to stop them getting through to the CPU. It features 40 levels across four difficulty settings ranging from &#8220;Cosy&#8221; to &#8220;Evil&#8221;.
