{"id":30691,"date":"2026-02-04T19:26:42","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T19:26:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/?p=30691"},"modified":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","slug":"doom-evercade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/games\/doom-evercade\/","title":{"rendered":"Doom set to Descend onto Evercade This Year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Doom<\/strong> will be blasting its way onto <strong>Evercade<\/strong> consoles later this year, as teased by <strong>Blaze Entertainment<\/strong>. <br \/><br \/>Well, if <strong>Doom<\/strong> can run on devices as diverse as calculators, digital cameras, toasters, and refrigerators, it should be no surprise that <strong>Doom<\/strong> will be coming to an actual console that has been designed specifically for playing retro games: namely, the <strong>Evercade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re sure that everyone reading this site is well aware of <strong>Doom<\/strong>, <strong>id Software<\/strong>&#8216;s seminal first-person shooter, which was first released for MS-DOS on\u00a0 PC\u00a0 way back in 1993.<br \/><br \/>Details are scant regarding <strong>Doom<\/strong>\u2019s release on <strong>Evercade<\/strong>, but we do know that it will be released this year, as part of <strong>Doom<\/strong> developer <strong>id Software<\/strong>\u2019s 35th anniversary celebrations.<br \/><br \/>We do not yet know which version(s) of <strong>Doom<\/strong> will be released on <strong>Evercade<\/strong>, but the PlayStation version is a likely candidate, as previous <strong>Evercade<\/strong> releases, such as the Tomb Raider Collections, on which we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/tomb-raider-returns-to-evercade-with-new-collection\/\">previously reported<\/a>, have proven that the format is more than capable of PlayStation emulation.<br \/><br \/><strong>Doom<\/strong> is the third <strong>Evercade<\/strong> release to be announced for 2026, so far, following The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/turrican-collection-evercade\/#\">Turrican Collection<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/taito-arcade-3\/\">Taito Arcade 3<\/a>, which are both due to be released later this month, on February 27, 2026, as we have previously reported.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"DOOM x Evercade Teaser Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qIA-NAI-QBU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Doom will be blasting its way onto Evercade consoles later this year, as teased by Blaze Entertainment.
