{"id":30721,"date":"2026-02-05T19:21:03","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T19:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/?p=30721"},"modified":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T08:58:08","slug":"console-archives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/games\/console-archives\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamster Corporation Opens up the Console Archives"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Console Archives<\/strong> is a new line of classic console games emulated for modern formats.<br \/><br \/>The new <strong>Console Archives<\/strong> line joins <strong>Hamster Corporation<\/strong>\u2019s long-running <strong>Arcade Archives<\/strong> line of emulated arcade titles, the latest of whichis Top Speed, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/top-speed-arcade-archives\/\">we reported<\/a> earlier today.<br \/><br \/>The <strong>Console Archives<\/strong> line was announced during today\u2019s <strong>Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase<\/strong> stream, and the line\u2019s first two titles were also released on <strong>Nintendo Switch 2<\/strong> today (February 5th, 2026).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also announced during the N<strong>intendo Direct Partner Showcase<\/strong> was a Super Bomberman Collection for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retronews.com\/staging\/super-bomberman-collection\/\">we reported<\/a> earlier today.<br \/><br \/>The first two <strong>Console Archives<\/strong> releases are Tecmo\u2019s 1990 <strong>NES<\/strong> title <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/console-archives-ninja-gaiden-ii-the-dark-sword-of-chaos-switch-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos<\/a>, priced at $7.99 USD, and the the 1996 <strong>PlayStation<\/strong> title <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/search\/#q=console+archives&amp;p=1&amp;cat=all&amp;sort=df\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cool Boarders<\/a>, priced at $11.99 USD.
