We recently reported on Fusion Retro Books running a Kickstarter to fund production of ZX Dreams, a new ZX Spectrum book, well, they haven’t stopped there! Now, Fusion Retro Books have teamed up with Pixel Jockey to run another Kickstarter campaign to fund 3D Combat Classics, which is a collector’s edition cassette boxset release of three games for the ZX Spectrum by Realtime Games. The games are: 3D Tank Duel, 3D Starstrike and Starstrike 2.
3D Tank Duel and 3D Starstrike were originally released for the ZX Spectrum back in 1984, with Starstrike 2 following in 1986.
However, with the 3D Combat Classics boxset, Fusion Retro Books and Pixel Jockey are giving you the chance to own an all-new pressing of each of these 8-bit classics on cassette here and now, in 2024, packaged in in a stylish slipcase all for just £32 (GBP) via Kickstarter.
The 3D Combat Classics Kickstarter campaign is being run by Pixel Jockey in conjunction with Fusion Retro Books, who own the rights to the games. Pixel Jockey are a company dedicated to producing officially-licensed ZX Spectrum products. The 3D Combat Classics campaign will run until 1900 UTC on December 9 2024, and at the time of writing it has already made £5130 of its £10,500 goal from 125 backers, despite only being live for a few hours.
