29 years later, Experts In Retro Remakes Are Giving An “HD Revival” To A Cult Classic Horror Boomer Shooter

The 1995 cult classic horror first-person shooter Killing Time is receiving an HD revival called Killing Time: Resurrected. This HD remaster of the original game, set in the 1930s, follows a student trapped in a haunted mansion after a wealthy individual performed a ritual and summoned demons. The game features demon enemies like giant bugs, killer clowns, zombie ducks, and more, culminating in a battle with the heiress, Tess Conway.

The remaster includes high-resolution character artwork and sprites, upscaled environment textures, and enhanced control and key-bind customization. Nightdive Studios, known for reviving abandoned games, is behind the project, with a focus on preserving and re-releasing classic titles for modern platforms. The studio’s track record includes successful remasters like Quake, Doom, and a System Shock remake.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
