Datadyne has released the official trailer for their upcoming turn-based RPG Forge of the Fae, showcasing the game’s Celtic folklore-inspired world and gameplay. The trailer highlights the game’s pixel art style, reminiscent of classic JRPGs, while introducing players to the protagonist Fiora and the mysterious Animas she’ll encounter.

Forge of the Fae features an 8-bit action-platformer style with players navigating a ship, solving puzzles, and battling entities known as Animas. These creatures are based on monsters and spirits from various folklores, including La Sayona from Venezuela, Ojáncanu from Spain, and Gashadokuro from Japan. The game’s combat system utilizes a unique Crystal System for channeling and casting magic during battles.

Forge of the Fae is planned for release on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2026. To support the game’s development, Datadyne will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in late September 2024.
