PS1 Classic Star Wars Jedi Power Battles Returns in January

The iconic PlayStation 1 title Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is set to make a comeback on modern platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Aspyr in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, this re-release is scheduled for January 23, 2025.

Key Features of the Re-release

  • Enhanced Gameplay: The remastered edition boasts upgraded character models and environments, smoother jump mechanics, improved balance, and new main menu artwork. Players can opt for either classic or modern control schemes.

  • Expanded Character Roster: The game will introduce 13 newly unlocked playable characters in addition to the original cast, including the Rifle Droid, Staff Tusken Raider, Ishi Tib, and Weequay. All secret characters and levels from the original version will be unlocked from the start.

  • Modes and Features: This re-release will incorporate Versus and Training modes from the Dreamcast version. A new lightsaber color toggle will enable players to adjust lightsaber colors to align with those from the films, rectifying previous inaccuracies such as Mace Windu’s lightsaber hue.

  • Couch Co-op: The beloved couch cooperative mode returns, allowing two players to collaborate throughout the entire campaign and access additional mini-games.

  • Nostalgic Elements: Classic cheat codes, including Big Head Mode, will be featured, providing a nostalgic experience for fans of the original game.

This re-release is part of Aspyr’s ongoing commitment to reintroduce classic Star Wars titles to modern audiences, following successful projects like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Players can eagerly anticipate revisiting this action-packed adventure with enhanced features that elevate the original gameplay experience.
