Unearthed After Two Decades: The English ‘Kaena’ for PS2

The lost English version of the PS2 game Kaena: The Prophecy has resurfaced 20 years after its initial development. Originally tied to the animated film Kaena: La Prophétie, the game was released in France in 2003 but never saw an English release due to the closure of its publisher, Microids.

Back in 2003, Namco co-produced a fantasy adventure game on #PS2 featuring the vocal talents of Kirsten Dunst, Anjelica Huston, Keith David & Richard Harris. (It was actually Harris' final project after playing Dumbledore in Harry Potter 1&2).

Rediscovery: A group of preservationists found a prototype of the English version, which includes full English voice acting and text. This version was meant for a wider release but was shelved after Microids faced financial difficulties.
Game Overview: Kaena: The Prophecy is an action-adventure game set on the distant planet Axis. Players follow Kaena, a rebellious teenager, on her journey to uncover the secrets beyond her village.
