Neo Geo games have been teased for Evercade by the console’s manufacturer Blaze Entertainment, who have taken to X to announce a team up with SNK for 2025.
There have been no suggestions of which Neo Geo games may be appearing on Evercade, or when they will be released (beyond the years 2025 and 2026).
Dare we dream of an Evercade Metal Slug collection? Perhaps an Evercade King of Fighters collection?
Blaze Entertainment have also not revealed whether the Neo Geo titles will be released on cartridge, or as built-in games in new Evercade hardware, as per Blaze’s partnership with Capcom, who only licensed their games to be used as built-in games on Blaze’s Evercade EXP handheld and their Evercade Alpha bartop models, describing the planned releases from the Evercade and SNK partnership as “new products”, going on to say that “In partnership with SNK, Blaze Entertainment will release officially licensed products from the history of the Neo Geo video gaming system throughout 2025 and 2026.”
By inking a deal with a big hitter such as SNK, Blaze Entertainment have once again highlighted the Evercade format’s increasing prominence in the retro gaming scene.
