Mamorukun ReCurse! set to Curse PC & Consoles This Year

Mamorukun ReCurse! is a remaster of a 2008 vertically-scrolling arcade shoot ‘em up in the ”cute ‘em up” subgenre. The original game, Mamorukun Curse!, ran on Sega’s NAOMI arcade hardware, and was ported to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and now, the game is getting a modern refresh in the form of Mamorukun ReCurse!.

One unusual aspect of Mamorukun ReCurse! is that, unlike most vertically-scrolling shoot ’em ups, the game does not automatically scroll, and  the player controls the scrolling of the game by moving forwards instead.

Features of the remastered Mamorukun ReCurse for modern platforms include widescreen support and modern twin-stick controls, the ability to use Curse Bullets to adjust the game’s difficulty on the fly, a story Mode, an arcade Mode, and Netherworld Adventures, which is a set of challenge courses designed to sharpen the player’s skills. The game will also include multiple characters, alternate costumes, and an extensive gallery mode, as well as original compositions by Yosuke Yasui, plus arranged music from the game’s previous releases.

Mamorukun ReCurse! is set to launch on launching on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2025, published by Clear River Games. You can find out more about Mamorukun ReCurse! On the Clear River Games website.
