Evercade cartridges enter “legacy” status when Blaze Entertainment’s license to issue further copies of the cartridge expires. It’s happened to quite a few previous Evercade releases before now, and it’s set to happen to four more this December. Once an Evercade cartridge enters “legacy” status, any copies in stores will remain on sale until they’ve sold out, but further copies will not be released, meaning that once existing stock has sold out anyone wishing to purchase copies of the cartridges will have to turn to the second hand market, where legacy Evercade cartridges often sell for over-inflated prices due to their scarcity. As any collector of video games will tell you, a title becoming scarce tends to increase its price not in considerably, and past Evercade legacy cartridges have certainly borne out this theory.
The four Evercade cartridges set to enter legacy status in December are Piko Interactive Collection 2, Indie Heroes Collection 1, Mega Cat Studios Collection 2, and The Sydney Hunter Collection.
So, if you need any of these cartridges for your Evercade collection, we’d recommend picking them up pretty quickly, while they’re still available at their suggested retail prices.
