Game Boy Micro and N64 Controller Merged by Modder

Game Boy Micro in N64 controller mod

A rather enterprising modder has, rather impressively, merged a Game Boy Micro into an N64 controller, with the end result looking not unlike a Dreamcast controller with a VMU inside it.

The end result is very cool indeed, and the N64 controls can be used to play Game Boy Advance games on the embedded Game Boy Micro, with the N64 controller’s C buttons even being used to adjust volume and brightness!

We spotted this very cool looking Game Boy Micro/N64 mash up on Reddit, on the
r/Gameboy Subreddit, where it was posted by a user going by the name of MaSaKee.

The Game Boy Micro was Nintendo’s revamped Game Boy Advance 32-bit handheld console, remodelled into a smaller form factor. The console was the final new Nintendo console to bear the “Game Boy” name, and it was released in 2005, before finally being discontinued in 2008. Unlike the original Game Boy Advance and the Game Boy Advance SP models, the Game Boy Micro could not be used with original Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges, due to its smaller size.

The other element of MaSaKee’s impressive mash up of Nintendo technologies is, of course, a Nintendo 64 controller. The 64-bit Nintendo 64 home console was originally released in 1996, before being discontinued in 2002.
