As we previously reported, Console Archives is new line of emulated classic console titles for modern formats from Hamster Corporation, joining their long-running Arcade Archives series, on the latest of which we reported just yesterday.

This week’s Console Archives release is Nobunaga’s Ambition, which follows the previous release in the line, which was Dezaemon. As we previously reported.

Nobunaga’s Ambition is a historical simulation game that was originally release on NES by Koei back in 1987. In addition to the NES version, Nobunga’s Ambition has also previously been released on a number of other formats, including MSX, PC-88, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance, amongst others, but the Console Archives release of Nobunaga’s Ambition is the NES version.

Hamster Corporation describes Nobunaga’s Ambition as follows: “in this historical simulation game, you become a Sengoku daimyo with the ultimate goal of unifying all of Japan.
As the tides of war shift from moment to moment, you must determine how to enrich your domain, strengthen your military, and conquer rival nations. Use every ounce of your ingenuity to bring an end to the turbulent Sengoku period!”

The Console Archives version of Nobunaga’s Ambition was released yesterday (March 5th 2026), and it is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
