This week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated coin-op titles is Cyber Commando, which is a Namco arcade shooter from 1994 that hasn’t previously received a release on home formats, despite hitting arcades more than 30 years ago.
The release of Cyber Commando follows last week’s release of SNK’s brawler Street Smart, on which we reported previously.
Cyber Commando has been described by Hamster Corporation as follows: “Board your vehicle and fight to stop a security computer malfunction that has broken out in a space colony.
The thrill of locking on and slamming missiles into a split-second opening—combined with diverse strategies unique to each vehicle—accelerates this ultimate one-on-one battle!”
The Arcade Archives version of Cyber Commando was released today (30th April 2026), on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $14.99 USD or local equivalent.
Meanwhile, the Arcade Archives 2 version of Cyber Commando, which adds a new “Time Attack” mode to the game, was released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $16.99 USD or local equivalent.
As usual, those who buy the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version on Nintendo Switch 2 or PlayStation 5 respectively, for $2.99 USD or local equivalent.
