Microprose Brings Pixel Art Strategy & Combat to Steam with Gangs of Asia

Gangs of Asia is a new pixel art title that was released onto Steam yesterday (May 5th, 2026) by the veteran games publisher Microprose.

Microprose says that Gangs of Asia blends “skill-based melee combat with real-time strategy,” creating what it describes as a “brawler-strategy hybrid.”

Microprose goes on to say that, in Gangs of Asia, “players take direct control of powerful gang leaders, fighting in real time while simultaneously capturing buildings, managing resources, and deploying units across the map. It’s a constant balancing act between landing that perfect combo and realizing your entire army just got wiped by something you didn’t see coming.”

The key features of Gangs of Asia are listed as follows: “fight and command simultaneously; multiplayer; character-driven gameplay; Co-op Horde Mode; capture, build, Dominate; unpredictable, emergent chaos; dynamic urban battlefield; accessible, hard to master; built for replayability.”

Gangs of Asia’s publisher, MicroProse, was founded in 1982, and is a world-famous simulation software company known for developing titles such as Falcon, HighFleet, B-17 The Mighty Eighth, Ground Branch, Gunship and many more.

Today, MicroProse is not only “remaking some of the hit titles from its past, but is also paving the road to next-generation, state-of-the-art games that will create the memories and experiences of new generations of gamers.” Indeed, we previously reported on MicroProse‘s revival of Geoff Crammond’s racing games.

Gangs of Asia is out now on Steam.
