Taxi Boy Drives Crazy Taxi onto Game Boy (Sort of.)

Taxi Boy is a new fan-made demake of the beloved Sega arcade classic Crazy Taxi for the Game Boy, which is currently available digitally as downloadable .gb file for the minimum price of 3.90€ EUR, via the itch.io page of the Taxi Boy’s developer, POCONO Games, with a physical Game Boy cartridge edition of Taxi Boy set to follow, which will be sold via the PCONO Games Shop.

PCONO Games lists the features of Taxi Boy as: three different players; 11 different characters; five different vehicles; two clocks (Customer and Game); Fuel management; high Score saves; and exclusive music by Narcisound.

Taxi Boy isn’t the only game that’s drawn inspiration from  Crazy Taxi to be released recently, as we previously reported on the physical console releases of the game Taxi Chaos 2.

However, it’s been almost a decade since the last official Crazy Taxi release, which was 2017’s Crazy Taxi Tycoon, and that was just a (now delisted spin off game for cell phone platforms!

Until Sega finally gets around to leaping back into the driving seat with an official new Crazy Taxi release, we can, at least, keep picking up them ker-azy fares on the Game Boy demake of the original Crazy Taxi, Taxi Boy
