Balatro Shuffles onto PSP

The Japanese gaming site Renpou has shared a post on its X account announcing that the gaming phenomenon that is the roguelike deck building card game Balatro has received a fan port for the PSP.

The PSP fan port of Balatro is titled PSPalatro, and it is still a work in progress, having been worked on over the last few months by Luxotick.

The PSP fan port of Balatro’s current version (v0.8) was released yesterday (May 20, 2026), and the ROM is now available to download now via GitHub , along with the game’s source code.

The PSP is far from the first retro format to receive an unofficial fan port of Balatro, as you’ll know if you’ve seen our previous posts on the fan ports of the game for the  Nintendo DS and even for the 8-bit Commodore 64 home computer!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two years, chances are that you’ll already be well aware that Balatro is a deckbuilding roguelike card game based on poker that has seen release on all major modern formats, as well as on iOS and Android, becoming something of a phenomenon following its release in 2024.

Balatro’s most recent official release was for the Nintendo Switch 2, this February.
