Pokemon: Pink Version is a new ROM hack for the Game Boy game Pokémon: Yellow Version – Special Pikachu Edition.
The coder behind the hack, JcFerggy, says that it is an attempt to create a companion edition for Pokemon: Yellow Version, in the “vein as Pokémon Red & Blue were to each other.”
You’ll be especially interested in the Pokemon: Pink Version ROM hack if you’re a fan of the Pokemon Clefairy, as the hack replaces the Pikachu graphics and audio in Pokémon: Yellow Version – Special Pikachu Edition with Clefairy equivalents.
In addition to this, the hack also adjusts Wild Pokemon encounters, in order to offer the Pokemon that were missing from Pokemon Yellow, while removing others to maintain version exclusivity. Select areas have also: “been modified to have Pokemon that reference the events of the Pocket Monsters manga,”sdditionally, “trainer and Gym Leader teams have been adjusted to more closely match their Pocket Monsters manga counterparts, and: “new event encounters have been added to reference the characters of Blue and Yellow from the Pocket Monsters manga (with your Rival being Green).”
