Moon Shuttle has been released as a second title in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives 2 line of emulated coin-op titles this week, alongside Tekken, on the release of which we reported yesterday.
Moon Shuttle is a shoot ‘em up that was originally released into arcades by Nichibutsu in 1981.
Hamster Corporation has described Moon Shuttle as follows: “players can enjoy alternating stages in which they destroy or dodge through groups of meteors to reach the goal, and stages in which they defeat enemies with wave motion cannons.”
Moon Shuttle has previously been released by Hamster Corporation in its original Arcade Archives line for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, back in 2024, and while the original Arcade Archives line does not appear to be getting a new release of its own this week, the previously released Arcade Achieves version of Moon Shuttle has received a patch that adds the domestic Japanese do version of Moon Shuttle to the release. In a post on its X account, Hamster Corporation notes that the patch for the Arcade Archives version of the game was made possible thanks to: “a user who kindly lent us the valuable domestic version board, we were able to include this domestic version as additional content.”
The Arcade Archives 2 version of Moon Shuttle, which adds a new Time Attack mode to the game, was released from today (June 26, 2026) on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5; Xbox Series X|S; and Windows PC via Xbox Play Anywhere, priced at $9.99 USD or local equivalent.
As usual, owners of the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version on Nintendo Switch 2 or PlayStation 5 respectively for $2.99 USD or local equivalent.
