BioCreeps is a new NES arcade title from developer 6502 Collective. The game is “95% complete” and is currently in a crowdfunding stage to secure funding for the release of physical editions for retro fans. The project has already achieved $15,000, which is way over the initial $6,000 needed to bring it to life. Łukasz Kur, a veteran of the indie homebrew scene, heads up the BioCreeps development team.
The game features unique mechanics in which most of the players’ time is spent airborne, being propelled skyward by downward blasts of a shotgun. 80 levels will be included, divided into 5 different zones, each with its own unique enemies, obstacles, and boss. Players will collect cash along the way to use in the upgrade shop, and there is also a classic two-player co-op mode.
BioCreeps is expected to ship in January 2027, and there are a variety of extras that interested parties can order on the Kickstarter page. The standout extras are a custom arcade stick featuring BioCreeps artwork and the apparel for dedicated fans, including caps, t-shirts, and sew-on patches. There are still 25 days of the crowdfunding campaign to go as we went to press with this post.
OUR KICKSTARTER IS NOW LIVE!! – After 6ish years of @lukaszkur and I (mostly me) muddling through making this game, we finally have our end in sight!
