Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou has been announced at this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line of retro console game re-releases for modern formats, following last week’s release of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, on which we reported previously.
This week’s release, Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou, is an RPG that was originally released for the Famicom in 1989 by Data East.
Hamster Corporation describes Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou as: “an RPG game where you play as a hero traveling a vast world to defeat monsters who plot to dominate it, adding that, in the game, you “join forces with companions you meet along the way and restore peace and tranquility to the world.”
As Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou was originally only released in Japan, all in-game text is in Japanese only, though the user interface and manual are also available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
According to a post on Famitsu’s X account, the Console Archives version of Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou will add “a new max 4-player party system” to the game.
The Console Archives version of Hercules no Eikou II Taitan no Metsubou will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 tomorrow (July 16, 2026), priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
A literal English translation of the game’s title would be: “Glory of Hercules II: Fall of the Titans”.
