UFO: A Day in the Life has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line of emulated games from classic consoles for modern formats, following from last week’s release of the Famicom Doraemon game, on which we reported at the time.
UFO: A Day in the Life is a rather obscure game that was originally released In Japan only for PlayStation by ASCII, back in 1999.
Hamster Corporation describes UFO: A Day in the Life as follows: “This is an alien-search variety game where your goal is to rescue the missing aliens inside an apartment on “Chikyu” in the Chahaya star system—the very place where the space passenger ship “Daimaoh” crashed.
Enjoy the unique cast of aliens, the apartment residents, and the human drama that unfolds within its walls!”
This Console Archives release will be UFO: A Day in the Life’s first ever release outside of Japan, over a quarter of a century since it was released to Japanese gamers. It will be released tomorrow (August6, 2026) on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, priced at $11.99 USD or local equivalent.
Because the game was not originally released outside of Japan, all in-game text is in Japanese only, but the user interface and manual will also be available in English.
