Kaboomania Explodes onto Amiga & Modern Formats

Kaboomania is a new “retro bomber game, “that’s been developed or the Amiga, but which is also available on modern formats, including PC and all major consoles.

As you might have guessed from its description as a “retro bomber game,” Kaboomania has been heavily influenced by Bomberman (or Dyna Blaster, as it was called on its Amiga release!)

Kaboomania was originally developed as a entry for AmiGameJam 2025, and it is the first Amiga game to be developed by Fancy Factory.
One thing that’s particularly noteworthy about Kaboomania is that it boasts a soundtrack composed by none other than Chris Huelsbeck, whose previous notable gaming composition s have included soundtracks for the Turrican series and Aidya, as well as the more recent Boulderdash 40th Anniversary, on which we reported previously. Huelsbeck’s soundtrack for the game is also available to purchase on CD.

Kaboomania is out now, not only as a digital release on Amiga A500 and Amiga A1200, via itch.io, but also as a boxed physical release for Amiga, which includes the game on floppy disks for AGA and OCS Amigas, and also on CD for Amiga CD32 consoles.

In addition to its Amiga releases, Kaboomania is also available on PC and all major consoles, with links to buy the game available via the Fancy Factory website.

I'm a retro gamer and writer who writes about video games for online and print outlets. My love of gaming began way back in 1986 with the ZX Spectrum, before becoming a lifelong Nintendo fan in 1990 with the Game Boy. And although I keep up with modern gaming, we all know you can't beat retro classics (or maybe I'm just old!) https://x.com/paultwist
