Carrier Command 2, a belated modern sequel to Carrier Command, Realtime Games and Rainbird’s 1988 military simulation title for 8-bit and 16-bit home computers, was originally released by MicroProse on Steam back in 2021, and during yesterday’s Pixel Arcadia showcase, on which we’ve reported previously, it was announced that Carrier Command 2 would also be coming to consoles soon.
In a post on X, publisher Infogrames says that, in Carrier Command 2, players can: “take full tactical of a naval battle in a military sim that blends real-time strategy with first-person piloting.”
Carrier Command 2 is a real-time military strategy sim, and it ill be published by Infogrames on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but we don’t yet know when, beyond the rather vague “soon”. You can keep up to date on the latest Carrier Command 2 developments via the game’s official website, where you’ll also find pre-order links for the game, but at the time of writing, these links are not yet live.
Other titles announced during Pixel Arcadia’s retro-focused showcase included Dotemu’s new Steam game Blasterbug, as we reported earlier today, and we’ll fill you in on the rest of the tasty retro announcements made during the stream throughout the day…
