We’ve been following Yuzo Koshiro’s Sega Genesis/Mega Drive shooter Earthion for some time, and while the game has now been released to critical acclaim for modern formats, Genesis/Mega Drive fans are still waiting for the game to be released for the format for which it was originally developed!
However, when Earthion does finally blast onto Genesis/Mega Drive, fans will be able to play the game in style using the arcade stick-tyle official Earthion Mega Drive controller!
The Earthion arcade stick for Genesis/Mega Drive is to be made by the Brazilian games company GamesCare, with felloe Brazilian physical retro games publisher Versao LTDA, and it promises to be made using pro-grade components, and you can join the waitlist for the official Earthion ~YK-II A controller now.
However, as of yet, neither GamesCare nor Versao LTDA has confirmed that the Earthion ~YK-II A controller will be available to ship internationally.
While the control pad has undoubtedly become the primary control method for most games these days, there’s certainly still demand for joystick-based controllers amongst retro gamers. With products in which we’ve reported previously including new version of the QuickShot II and TAC-2 home computer joysticks, and you still can’t beat an arcade stick for playing arcade-style games, such as Earthion!
