We’ve been following the ZX Spectrum documentary The Rubber-Keyed Wonder for a while, here at RetroNews, previously reporting on its soundtrack LP, an “expansion pack” that extends the original documentary, and even a tie-in ZX Spectrum game.
And now, The Rubber-Keyed Wonder is to get its very own tie-in book.
To be titled ‘The Rubber-Keyed Wonder: The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Story,’ the book will be written by the popular retro gaming YouTuber Kim Justice, and it will be published by a new company called Golden Slumbers Ltd., which has been set up by Ben Grant, who previously co-founded Rubber Road, the business behind the brands Numskull and Tubbz, and Quarter Arcades.
The book is designed to be both a companion piece to the Rubber-Keyed Wonder documentary, and a celebration of the ZX Spectrum’s 45th anniversary, which takes place next year, as the ZX Spectrum was first released by Sinclair in both 16K and 48K models back in 1982, following the success of Sinclair’s earlier ZX80 and ZX81 home computers.
The Rubber-Keyed Wonder: The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Story promises to be a “beautifully crafted” “premium book,” and funds to produce it eill be raised via Kickstarter, with a rowdfunding campaign for the project set to launch soon, but for now, you can join the 459 others to date who are following the campaign, ready to be notified upon its launch.
