Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos Remaster Coming this Month

Back in July, we reported that a remaster of Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos was in the works for modern formats, but at the time a release date had not been announced. However, Argonaut Games has now confirmed that development of the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster is complete, and it will launch digitally on October 29, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X|S, and for PC on Steam and GOG.com.

“Croc 2 takes Croc beyond his first adventure, with four distinct villages, new ways to explore, and his search for his long-lost parents at the heart of the story,” said Jez San OBE, Argonaut‘s founder. “Sharing that adventure with another generation of players on October 29 is something very special.”

“October 29. Mark it on your calendars, Gobbos,” said Baron Dante, Croc’s arch-nemesis. “My Dantinis and I have a little revenge planned, and no triple-jumping crocodile is going to stop us!”

Argonaut Games had this to say about the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster: “in Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, Croc sets off for the mainland in search of his long-lost parents. However, his journey becomes a showdown as his arch-nemesis, Baron Dante, is resurrected by the Dantinis and vows revenge. Croc’s quest takes him through four distinct villages, where he rescues captured Gobbos and faces off against a roster of Guardians, including Soveena the Squid, whose obsession with Ginger Soda makes her a menace to contend with, adding that: “all of Croc’s classic moves are back, but jumping and tail-spinning are just the beginning. Croc can now triple jump, giving him extra height when he needs it most. Croc also rides minecarts, races cars and speedboats, catches air on a hang glider, and takes to the skies in a wooden airplane.

Argonaut also said that: “the remaster blends traditional platforming action with modern enhancements while preserving the feel of the original. Fans of the original remaster and newcomers alike can look forward to another heartwarming, family-friendly adventure packed with platforming challenges, secrets to uncover, and more adorable Gobbos to rescue.”

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos was originally released on PlayStation in 1999, before being ported to PC a year later in 2000.
