Yesterday (October 14, 2026), the retro gaming book publisher Fusion Retro Books launched its annual Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to publish its annual book tie-ins for its roster of games magazines, and at the time of writing, the campaign has already raised £46,289 GBP from 947 backers, against a goal of £20,000, with 22 days still left to run.
There are annuals for four of Fusion Retro Books’ periodical magazines on offer in this year’s Kickstarter campaign. The four magazines are: ZZap! 64 (which covers the Commodore 64), Crash (which covers the ZX Spectrum), Fusion (which coverscovering multiformat gaming, both retro & modern) and Spectrum NEXT (which covers the Spectrum Next computer, as you have probably ascertained.)
It should probably come as no surprise that the Kickstarter campaign for the 2027 Retro Frusion Books annuals has been such a huge success, because, as we reported at the time, last year’s Kickstarter campaign was also massively successful. Also as per last year, most of the annuals will be published in an A5 size, with the Crash and ZZap! 64 annuals also available at A4 size, and the Spectrum NEXT annual available in A4 size only.
A “small number” of perks are also set to be added throughout the duration of the campaign.
