The Resurrection of Japan’s Arcade Store Post-Fire

Recently, an arcade in Japan that took a decade to build was tragically destroyed by a fire. In response, the owner of the arcade has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help revive the establishment.

One notable supporter of this effort is WWE star Asuka. The owner of the Living Bird store, which housed a collection of classic arcade games in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, admitted to grappling with the decision to resort to crowdfunding. Initially believing that reconstruction was unattainable, the owner refrained from considering crowdfunding until a viable path to rebuilding emerged.

Now fully committed to the endeavor, the owner sees this as a final opportunity to realize the dream of resurrecting the arcade and is hopeful that with the support of the community, the arcade can be rebuilt.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
