Pinup posters of Lara Croft have gone missing in the remastered versions of Tomb Raider I-III.

Aspyr recently released a major update for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, introducing a new outfit but also reportedly removing some content, including “Lara’s pinup” posters in Tomb Raider III.

Fans have observed that these posters, originally present in the game and earlier versions of the remaster, are now missing in the latest update. Modders have worked to restore the posters on PC, but Aspyr has not provided any official explanation for their removal. Crystal Dynamics, the developer of the trilogy remaster, previously stated that they chose not to remove content that did not align with their values, opting instead to learn from it. Here’s the statement from their company:

“The games in this collection contain offensive depictions of people and cultures rooted in racism and ethnic prejudices. these stereotypes are deeply harmful, inexcusable, and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics.

Rather than removing this content, we have chosen to present it here in its original form, unaltered, in the hopes that we may acknowledge its harmful impact and learn from it.”
