Fans Recreate Mega Man V for Game Boy in 16-Bit

The 1994 Game Boy release, Mega Man V, is undergoing a PC transformation titled Mega Man: The Rulers of Space.

This adaptation is made by programmer MarcDWyz, joined by pixel artists ZanSidera and Egoraptor, and composer mstaple_music.

It brings a 16-bit visual upgrade and a fresh soundtrack to the original. Alongside these enhancements, the title introduces an original narrative and a set of adversaries known as the Stardroids. Although the game hasn’t seen wide re-release, it made its way to the 3DS Virtual Console in 2013 and saw a 2023 release of a fanmade coloration patch for the Game Boy Color.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
