Another Code has been announced as the latest Game Boy demake to be tackled by Game Boy Demakes, on whose demake of Overcooked we previously reported.
Game Boy Demakes ran a poll for his Patreon subscribers to decide whether his next project should be a Game Boy demake of a Genesis game or a Game Boy demake of a Nintendo DS game. Nintendo DS won the vote, and Game Boy Demakes has now confirmed that his next project will be a Game Boy demake of the Nintendo DS title Another Code.
Another Code, known as Trace Memory in the US, is a point and click adventure that was originally released for the Nintendo DS back in 2005, with a Switch remake titled Another Code: Recollection following in 2023. It’ll be interesting to see how the humble monochrome Game Boy can handle the game (albeit in demake form!)
As well as the previously mentioned Overcooked, Game Boy Demakes’ previous demakes for Game Boy have included Switch title Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Game Boy Advance game Mario vs. Donkey Kong, GameCube game Viewtiful Joe, and more. All of Game Boy Demakes’ past projects are available as downloadable ROMs for subscribers to his Patreon, and you can follow the progress of the Another Code demake via Game Boy Demakes’ X feed.
