Atic Atac 3D is a new, fan-made re-imagining of the classic top-down 2D ZX Spectrum adventure game game Atic Atac for PC.
First published in 1983, the original ZX Spectrum version of Atic Atac was developed and published by Ultimate Play the Game, who would later go on to become Rare.
Atic Atac 3D remakes the original Atic Atac for PC as from a 3D first-person perspective, albeit while still retaining ZX Spectrum-style graphics. The game can be played using either mouse or keyboard.
Atic Atac 3D has been made by a homebrew developer by the name of Stephen Smith, and it can be downloaded on a name -your-own-price basis from his itch.io page now.
Atic Atac isn’t the first ZX Spectrum classic to be given a 3D update by Stephen Smith, as he has previously recreatedRaffaele Cecco’s classic shooter Exolon and Clive Townsend’s classic stealth-based action adventure game Saboteur as 3D PC games, both also with ZX Spectrum-inspired graphics, as per Atic Atac 3D.
Atic Atac 3D also isn’t the first of Ultimate Play the Game’s ZX Spectrum classics to get a fan-made reimagining, as we recently reported on a new fan-made PC remake of the developer’s beloved shooter Jetpac.
