The Final Fantasy XI “Return Home to Vana’diel” campaign is returning for the holiday season, allowing former players to revisit the MMORPG for free. This event will run from December 20, 2024, to January 6, 2025, giving eligible players 18 days to log in and experience the game without a subscription. The campaign coincides with FFXI’s festive Starlight Celebration (December 16–31) and New Year’s events, including the Winter’s Embrace Campaign and Nomad Mog Bonanza Marble Sales. To participate, players must meet certain conditions:
- Have a Square Enix or PlayOnline account tied to an active service account.
- Be marked as “canceled” under inactive characters as of August 20, 2024.
- Use the Windows version of the game client.
During this period, Square Enix is also offering discounts on FFXI content:
- Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition: $9.99
- Seekers of Adoulin Expansion: $4.99
- World Transfer Service: $9
These discounts will remain available until January 14, 2025, extending beyond the free play window. This holiday campaign is a great opportunity for returning players to explore Vana’diel during its festive events and take advantage of discounted content.
