Originally released on both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch back in 2021, Cotton Reboot! Is a remake of the 1993 Sharp X68000 port of the broomstick-flying witch starring arcade cute ‘em up Cotton.
Cotton was first released into arcades by Success back in 1991, and the game has since received a number of home ports, spin-offs and sequels, such as the 3D spin-off Rainbow Cotton, on which we reported previously.
And now, Cotton will be flying her witchy broomstick onto current-gen machines with the new Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 versions of Cotton Reboot!
These new releases of Cotton Reboot! will offer four different ways to experience the beloved cute ’em up: the main way to play is new Arrange Mode; which offers widescreen resolution, new HD graphics, and brand-new voice acting; the, there’s the a Time Attack Mode, in which play is limited to two or five minutes; the original X68000 version of the game; and new to the PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Cotton Reboot!; a Nightmare Mode, with increased difficulty and new enemies.
Clear River Games will be releasing Cotton Reboot! on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 both digitally and physically on October 22, 2026. Pre-orders for the physical editions are open now on the Clear River Games website.
