Cyber Mission’s Sega Genesis Port Faces Challenges

The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive port of Gameenergy‘s action shooter, Cyber Mission, is embroiled in controversy stemming from a dispute between developer PSCD Games and publisher Gameenergy regarding funds raised through Kickstarter. After successfully garnering over €23,866 to support the game’s development for the 16-bit platform, PSCD accused Gameenergy of failing to transfer the funds as per their agreement, instead insisting that PSCD bear upfront costs.

In a YouTube video, PSCD referred to Gameenergy as “scammers” and urged supporters to demand the release of funds or seek refunds. In response, Gameenergy claimed that PSCD had not fulfilled contractual obligations and had abandoned the project. Despite these accusations, Gameenergy maintained that development was proceeding and that all funds had been received. This situation reflects previous challenges faced by PSCD with another project, in which backers ultimately received refunds. As a result, it is recommended that affected backers consider all options for obtaining refunds.
