The December 2024 Evercade Game of the Month is now live and ready to be played by owners of Evercade VS home consoles, Evercade EXP handheld consoles and Evercade Alpha bartop arcade consoles who update their machines to the latest system software.
The December 2024 Evercade Game of the Month is Murtop, a “neo-retro” game in the style of 1980s arcade games. Indeed, the game’s creator describes Murtop as “a blend between Dig Dug and Bomberman,” meaning that Murtop should offer plenty to enjoy for retro gamers like ourselves.
Murtop has previously been released on Steam and Nintendo Switch, and this new Evercade version of the game is one of only a handful of games to date that have been ported natively to Evercade, rather than relying on emulation.
Murtop is the 9th and final Evercade Game of the Month for 2024, and it will be included with the year’s other Evercade Game of the Month titles on the Indie Heroes Collection 4 cartridge, which is currently scheduled for release in February 2025, though this date is subject to change.
