Dreamcast Metal Slug Port: Superior to Neo Geo Original

A new fan-made port of Metal Slug has been released for the Sega Dreamcast, surpassing the original 1996 version. Developed by Ian Micheal, this port utilizes the DreamNeo CD Neo Geo CD emulator to offer the smoothest and most feature-rich adaptation of the game yet. It runs at a seamless 60fps with no frameskip, includes an integrated save game system, enhanced gamma correction, and allows players to switch between different regional versions. Along with these features, the port also includes an ‘arranged’ edition of the game with upgraded music.

Originally released in arcades for the Neo Geo AES in 1996, Metal Slug is a highly acclaimed run-and-gun shooter. Its popularity has led to a successful series that continues to thrive, with the upcoming release of Metal Slug Tactics set for this year.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
