Escape from 8-Bit High set to Break Out on Steam This Month

Escape from 8-Bit High is a forthcoming new point and click adventure game that seems squarely aimed at retro gamers like us, because, as its name suggests, the game is a celebration of the 8-bit era of gaming, and this is confirmed by the game’s description on Steam, which says that, in the game: “when a cursed cassette awakens a sentient Pomodore 64, Cloudydale High is overrun by 8-bit villains! Join alt-rock trio Blueberry Finn-Hank, Duck, and Alex-as they battle mole men, aliens, dinosaurs and more in a bizarre, musical quest to save the world!”

The game is further described as follows: “travel back to the days of 8-bit computers and arcade cabinets with this retro, action-packed, music-driven adventure!
Help the rock trio Blueberry Finn defeat the Evil Pomodore 64—a nasty artificial intelligence awakened by a mysterious cassette, hell-bent on conquering the small town of Cloudydale… and eventually the world! Escape from 8-Bit High is a challenging point & click adventure filled with retro-style puzzles, meaningful choices, strange locations, and enemies to fight using a unique arcade-inspired Music Battle System.”

Escape from 8-Bit High has been developed by the indie developer Duck Made of Wood, who previously developed the point and click game The Day of the Jellyfish, which was released on Steam last year. Escape from 8-Bit High will be published on Steam by Dionous Games on September 29, 2026, with a free demo of the game already available to download now.
