The Evercade Game of the Month for May 2026 is now live.
Last month, we reported that Blaze Entertainment had revived the Evercade Game of the Month program for 2026, for which a new indie/homebrew game is made available every month between April and December to owners of Evercade VS, Evercade EXP and Evercade Alpha consoles, simply by updating the machine’s system software.
While users do not get to keep Evercade Game of the Month titles permanently, they do remain playable on the console until the system software is updated again, with all of 2026’s Evercade Game of the Month titles set to receive a physical release on next year’s Indie Heroes 5 cartridge.
Last month saw the first chapter of BioMenace Remastered released as the first Evercade Game of the Month for 2026, and this has now been replaced by this month’s title, which is Inspector Waffles – Early Days, a top-down adventure game featuring point and click mechanics that was originally developed by Goloso Games for Game Boy Color and PC in 2024, before being ported to modern console formats.
Inspector Waffles – Early Days is a prequel to Goloso Games’ earlier Inspector Waffles point and click adventure game., which was originally released on PC in 2021, before receiving console ports.
