F355 Challenge’s Online Features Restored on Dreamcast

Yu Suzuki’s F355 Challenge has returned to online play, thanks to developer Flyinghead‘s restoration of its online functionality. Players can now upload their best times and download ghost cars for competitive racing, although full online multiplayer remains absent, in line with the original game. Local racing between two consoles is still possible. The game’s online features were last operational in 2006 before Sega discontinued them.

Originally released in arcades in 1999 and later ported to the Dreamcast in 2000 and PS2 in 2002, only the Dreamcast version supports online rankings, as the PS2 version lacks this feature. Access to the restored online capabilities can be achieved through the game disc or emulation.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
