A new homebrew platform game for the Game Boy Color, titled Fortune & Glory, raised its Kickstarter goal of £2,500 in 24 hours, and has since gone on to raise a further £10,603 at the time of writing, from a total of 312 backers, and the campaign still has 16 days left to run.
The game has been described by its developer, Matthew Loffhagen, as a: “Game Boy Color game inspired by Saturday morning cartoon platformers of the 90s!” Elaborating that the game as: “a brand new 8-bit platformer about cartoon mice hunting for treasure in an ancient city. Made for Game Boy Color, this game is playable on authentic hardware, or via emulator on PC, mobile, tablets and emulation handhelds.”
Rewards for pledges include digital or physical copies of the game, so whether you prefer to play GBC titles on emulators or on actual Game Boy Color hardware, there will be a version of Fortune & Glory to suit you.
