Go! Go! Pogo Girl set to Leap onto Sega Genesis

Go! Go! Pogo Girl is a colorful old-school 2D platformer that first leapt onto Nintendo Switch and PC back in 2022, before later bouncing onto Xbox One & Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5. Now, the game’s developer, Space Pants Games, has ported the game to Sega’s 16-bit Genesis console, reporting on X that they think they have now fixed the game’s last bug. Space Pants Games plans to release the game physically on cartridge for Sega Genesis, to be made available via the game’s itch.io page.

Space Pants Games had this to say about Go! Go! Pogo Girl: “Bounce your way through the world, collect gems and then bounce some more! It’s a love letter to 1990s era platformers with colorful graphics, idle animations and fluid gameplay. The game even features secret push-button codes like in the old days. Never stop bouncing, never stop platforming!” Features of the game include four seasons, each with 5 levels, bouncy boss fights, and hidden gems, levels and features.

Pogo-stick based platforming brings to mind Capcom’s classic Duck Tales to us, but could Go! Go! Pogo Girl possibly bounce anywhere near the great heights that that classic title reached? You can find out on modern formats right now, and on Sega Genesis in the weeks to come…
