Gradius Origins is a collection of six classic Gradius games, along with the brand new Salamander III. Different versions of the classic Gradius games will be included, adding up to 18 versions in total. The collection was announced during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, as we reported yesterday.
So, why are we telling you about it again today? Well, very shortly after the announcement of Gradius Origins, Limited Run Games confirmed that they would be releasing Gradius Origins physical editions for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
As a reminder, the games included on Gradius Origins are: Salamander III, Gradius, Salamander, Life Force, Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou, Gradius III: Densetsu kara Shinwa e, and Salamander II.
The Gradius Origins physical editions are available in Standard Editions, and rather cool looking Classic Editions, which boast packaging in the style of Gradius’s NES release, and which includes a classic Silver box with Metallic ink, two Alternate cover sheets, a soundtrack CD, and a 12” x 16” reversible poster.
Pre-orders for the Gradius Origins physical editions open via Limited Run Games on Friday, March 28 at 10 AM EDT. The collection will be a must-buy for fans of shoot ‘em ups who are also fans of collecting physical games!
