ION Shift will be the next release from the prolific indie retro publisher Flynn’s Arcade. You may have noticed that we often describe Flynn’s Arcade as prolific, and that’s no exaggeration, as i0t was only yesterday that we reported on Flynn’s Arcade’s upcoming Halloween release, Silver Bullet, but before then, they’ve got yet another title to release on Nintendo Switch,in the form of Ion Shift, a new 2D sci-fi action platform game developed by Electro Soul Games.
The game was previously released on Steam last year, where it has received “very positive” reviews, so the game’s Nintendo Switch release should be something to look forward to for fans of platforming sci-fi action.
ION Shift offers something of a reversal of the usual alien-based scenarios, insofar as the player assumes the role of an alien looking to survive an attack from some invading human space marines!
The game’s publisher, Flynn’s Arcade, promises that ION Shift will offer “an adrenaline-fueled combat system like never before, featuring dynamic dashes, strategic throwables, and sandbox-style arenas. Dash through the battlefield with precision, unleash an array of creative throwables, and navigate a dynamic environment for tactical advantages. This is combat reimagined, where every move is a strategic choice in an ever-evolving arena.”
Flynn’s Arcade will be releasing ION Shift onto Nintendo Switch on July 31st, 2025, with a 20% discount available on the game during the first week.
