Way back in June last year, we spotted that Legacy of Kain: Defiance had received ratings for PlayStation 4&5 releases in Taiwan, suggesting that the 2003 action-adventure game would be coming to modern formats.
And indeed, it did, with digital versions of Legend of Kain: Defiance releasing back in March of this year, and now, , with physical editions of the game were confirmed yesterday (September 21, 2026), when Crystal Dynamics and co-developer PlayEveryWare announced that new physical editions of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered will be releasing on November 13, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and Xbox One, with pre-orders are now open at major retailer, with a choice of Standard and Deluxe Editions.
The Standard Edition of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered will retail for $29.99 USD or local equivalent.
Meanwhile, the physical Deluxe Edition, which includes a physical copy of the Deluxe Edition of the game (which features the base game, a digital comic book reader with three classic comics, and a demo of the unreleased sixth game in the series: Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy), plus a SteelBook, as well as the official soundtrack on a physical CD, and an art book containing over 80 pages of sketches, concept art, models, and more, will retail for $49.99 USD or local equivalent.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered promises to be: “the definitive version of 2003’s gripping dark fantasy adventure, revamped for modern platforms with new graphics upgrades, an improved camera, and extensive bonus content such as a photo mode and ‘lost levels’ from the original game. Return to the world of Nosgoth as you control both the vampire Kain and his betrayed lieutenant, Raziel, two mighty beings bound by the conflict between fate and free will.”
As announced previously, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is already available digitally on PlayStation 5&4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
