Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2, a new collection of Metal Gear Solid games, had been previously announced for PS5 but Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2 editions were revealed during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct stream, which also saw other retro-flavored announcements in the forms of the DK Challenge event and the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, on both of which we reported earlier.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 will include the games Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which was first released on PlayStation 3 in 2008, and which is getting its first ever port in this new collection; Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which was first released on PSP in 2010; and, as a “bonus;” Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, which was first the first handheld title in the series, first released on Game Boy Color in 2000. In addition to the three games, the collection will also include the Metal Gear Solid Digital Soundtrack Vol.2, which will comprise of a total of 16 tracks from the games.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 is the follow-up collection to -you guessed it! – Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1, which was released back in 2023.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 will be released by Konami on August 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with pre-orders open now. You can find out more by sneaking over to the game’s official website.
